Boats arrived at Baytowne Marina Tuesday and Wednesday, with teams fueling up and loading boats to get ready for fishing starting Friday morning.

Things kicked off with a captains party Wednesday night at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, a nice spread and music there for the participants' enjoyment.

As for the teams, many of them were unable to fish a couple of weeks ago at a tournament in Biloxi, so they are psyched and ready to roll.

"We are chomping at the bit," "Lolita" captain Jeremy Cox said. "This is our favorite tournament of the year anyways, sort of a home school for us. Our owners have condos here. They keep the boat here in Destin, so we are so excited about this tournament. It was a buzzkill for sure in Biloxi, nobody saw that coming. Everybody was amped up to fish that tournament and then you can't really control the weather, but we sort of took it on the chin and we're here ready to go."

They'll head out Friday instead of Thursday, with the weigh-ins now set for Saturday and Sunday. ECBC Director Adam Alfonso made the call with a lot of input from the teams.
