At Mosley High School, five student athletes made their futures official, signing college athletic scholarships at a ceremony in the school's Fine Arts Center.

Olivia Walker, a three-time district champion and all-state soccer player, signed a soccer scholarship with Florida Southern.

Sabrina Whitmire, a .569 hitter on the Dolphins' softball team, is headed to L.B. Wallace Community College.

Joey Garrett, Mosley's quarterback and expectant ace (who will miss the 2020 baseball season recovering from a medical procedure), signed a baseball scholarship with Tallahassee, set to compete in the nearby Panhandle Conference in 2021.

Christian Lasecki, who baseball coach Jon hudson calls "one of the best catchers I've ever coached," signed a baseball scholarship with Huntington University in Indiana.

Derek Harris, a linebacker and safety who accounted for 142 career tackles, five interceptions, and four fumbles, inked a scholarship with Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

"It's an exciting day for our student athletes," principal Brian Bullock said. "They're leaders on the field, but they're also leaders in the classroom. Just real excited for them and their families to be able to be able to sign and go off to that next level and be successful at the college of their choice."
