GSTAAD, Switzerland (WJHG/WECP) - Alexa Guarachi's magic month continues to get better.
Three weeks removed from qualifying for her first Wimbledon doubles draw, Guarachi and partner Desirae Krawczyk won the Ladies Championship Gstaad Sunday in Switzerland.
This is the first WTA title for the South Walton state champ and Alabama grad.
For the second match in a row, Guarachi and Krawczyk got off to a rough start in the first set against Timea Bacsinszky and Lara Arruabarrena. After dropping the first set 4-6, Guarachi and Krawczyk turned it around and surged to take the next two 6-4, 10-6 to claim the victory on clay.
The Swiss tournament is the first event Guarachi and Krawczyk have played with each other. Prior to teaming with the Californian, Guarachi competed at Wimbledon with fellow Crimson Tide alumnus Erin Routliffe.
Guarachi's No. 114 world ranking will rise inevitably rise in the coming days. Winners receiver 280 points towards their standing in addition to a purse in excess of $12,000.
