CALLAWAY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Before their classmates competed in other sports, and before others were even awake, the North Bay Haven cross country teams took top honors at the "850 Strong Run" in Callaway.
Formerly known as the "Ram Run" and hosted by Rutherford, the North Bay Haven boys team placed first overall, while the girls team placed second to Baker.
Junior Ben Porter led the team with a time of 20:33.15, 5th overall ahead of senior Seth Pietrowski's 6th place 20:39.20.
Kyla Faint, a sixth grader, led the girls team with a 3rd place time of 22:21.33.
Nine teams competed in the event, including all Bay County schools plus Chipley and Graceville.
