Northwest Florida baseball clinches conference championship

NICEVILLE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The top two positions in the Panahndle Conference are locked up after Saturday's games.

Northwest Florida and Chipola clinch state tournament spots, with a 3-2 win at Tallahassee securing the conference title for the Raiders.

19-3 in conference and ranked No. 5 in the nation with just two games to play, the Raiders celebrate a conference crown for the first time since 2011. It's the second title under coach Doug Martin, although they won the national championship in 2015 finishing as Panhandle runner-up.

The Raiders and Indians round out the regular season against each other, playing in Marianna Monday night and in Niceville Wednesday.
