Seniors at Marianna, Wewa get their say

MARIANNA/WEWAHITCHKA, FL (WJHG/WECP) Friday gave us the chane to hear from two more area seniors, who've seen the second half of their senior sports seasons taken away from them.

Innovations Federal Credit Union Senior Sports Spotlight

The first is Marianna's Ben Wiggins.

"And I would say the thing I love the most about baseball is the feeling of validation that you get when your hard work pays off, or you win a big game. Or you play really good on one night. And I would say the thing that I miss the most about it is what I miss most about life in general with the coronavirus, and that's just being around a bunch of good friends that all want the same thing, and that's to win games and have fun. So yeah it's unfortunate that our season's over, but our coach, Coach (Bobby) Hughes is planning some summer games for us so I'm gonna get ready for those and try to go out the best I can."

On to our next Senior Spotlight and that shines one of the Lady Gators!

"Hi my name is Savannah Lister and I play softball for Wewahitchka High School. What I miss about this sport is being able to see my friends and teammates every day after school practicing and playing games. What I love about this sport is that I've played it from a very young age and I've grown a great passion for this game. I'm so glad that I get to move on to the next level to continue on playing the game I love."
