Sheriff's officials: Good Samaritans and dogs stop children from crossing interstate

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, five good Samaritans and two Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mixes stopped two young children from crossing Interstate 10 Saturday morning.


Blountstown residents started their Saturday morning with a parade and festival to celebrate Black History Month.



Officials said the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 73 and County Road 274 in Calhoun County.


It wasn't just about the gumbo. The festival raised money for the Sandestin Foundation for Kids.
