PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The CEO and President of the Bay County CVB/TDC, Dan Rowe, is resigning from his position.

Rowe sent an email to Clair Pease on Friday announcing his voluntary resignation. Rowe said he is giving his three months written notice of his resignation, exercising his right to terminate the contract.

Rowe stated in the email that it has been an honor and a privilege to serve the CVB for the past 18 years.

Rowe has been on a paid leave of absence since January 13th, and TDC chair Clair Pease has been acting as the CVB’s CEO and President since.

Rowe said he intends to resume his duties effective immediately to assist in ensuring a smooth transition.

Pease responded to his resignation, stating that it would be placed on the agenda for a special meeting of the CVB/Tourist Development Council Board of Directors on Monday, February 2. Until then, no further personnel decisions will be made.

Pease said that, given the current circumstances and in the best interest of the organization, Rowe is authorized to work remotely at her direction and will be notified if his assistance is needed.

Pease thanked Rowe for his years of service to the organization and the community.

In addition to Rowe’s resignation, Yonnie Patronis sent an email stating that he would like to pass on being reappointed to the board following two decades of service on the council.

This comes after Patronis stepped down from his role as treasurer during TDC’s first meeting of the year earlier this month. Patronis said serving on the TDC for the past 20 years has been a meaningful and rewarding experience.

However, he said he believes this is in the best interests of the TDC, saying it is now time to allow new voices and fresh perspectives to join the board.

In a statement, the TDC board said they remain focused on continuing operations, maintaining accountability, and protecting the public interest, and that the transition will be handled in an orderly and transparent manner.

More information on Dan Rowe’s resignation is expected to be provided at Monday’s special meeting.
