WATCH: Dramatic rescue saves two duck hunters stranded in Pensacola waters

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) - A dramatic video released by the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans captures the tense rescue of two duck hunters who became stranded in Pensacola’s cold waters over the weekend.

The footage shows the hunters waiting in the marsh as a helicopter lowers rescue crews to hoist them to safety. Both men were unharmed in the operation.

According to officials, frigid winds pushed the hunters’ boat farther than expected, leaving them stuck in the marsh as temperatures dropped and conditions deteriorated. Multiple agencies responded to the emergency call, including the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile.

The rescue serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of proper preparation, particularly during cold weather operations on the water.
