Holmes County deputies recover gun reported stolen in Alabama during traffic stop
HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies found an allegedly stolen gun during a traffic stop Saturday.
According to HCSO, Kelvin Johnson was pulled over on Highway 79 after law enforcement saw a car with no license plate on the road.
Johnson showed deputies an Alabama license. After checking the license, authorities learned that Johnson had a temporary license restricting his driving to within Alabama.
HCSO says the check also showed that Johnson had an active warrant out of Alabama.
Deputies say they searched Johnson and found a Glock pistol in his waistband. After checking the serial number on the gun, deputies were able to confirm it had been reported out of Alabama.
Johnson was placed under arrest.
