BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Mosley volleyball player got a surprise during her game Thursday night when her brother, who had been stationed overseas, returned home.

Kaia Luke’s brother, Airman First Class Mason Luke, had been stationed in Turkey for the last two years. He surprised his sister during her game.

Mason Luke said he could not believe how much his sister had grown while he was away.

“When I first walked out, the first thing that came through my mind was how tall she was,” Mason Luke said. “I am not going to lie, when I left her she was like this, and now she is like up here, I was nervous, I was scared, I didn’t know what was going to happen.”

Kaia Luke said she did not know how to react to the surprise.

“I was excited and scared,” Kaia Luke said. “I didn’t know what was happening, like I was shaking because I didn’t know how to react. It felt fake.”

Their mom said she will not forget the moment.

“Well, I won’t forget this at all because these two are super close and they have always had a really good relationship and a really good bond,” Leah Luke said.

The Luke family plans to spend as much time together as they can before Mason Luke leaves again next month for Japan, where he will be stationed for the next two years.
