HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly defrauding a local business out of more than $4,500 using fraudulent checks, according to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the investigation started July 6, 2026, when authorities received a fraud report from the impacted business. An HCSO investigator later identified Chase Taylor as the suspect.

On Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, investigators tracked Taylor to a home in Walton County, where he was taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants.

Authorities have since obtained warrants charging Taylor with grand theft, fraud, forgery, and the unlawful use of a two-way communications device. Taylor is awaiting extradition back to Holmes County to face the charges.
