PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Community members in Lynn Haven gathered on Thursday to honor the lives lost on September 11th.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day, a tragedy that changed the country. The ceremony gave neighbors, families, first responders, students, and community leaders a chance to pause, reflect, and remember together.

Lynn Haven Mayor Dr. Dave Lowery spoke at the event.

“For those of us that were here, it’s very solemn,” Lowery said. “And that quiet Tuesday morning was a pivotal moment for all of us. So we remember today the lives we recognize and honor their sacrifices, and we pledge in our hearts not to forget.”

25 years later, ceremonies like this one in Lynn Haven and across the country carry one message: never forget.
