PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - This month is a double awareness month, with signs and symptoms to watch for in both women and men.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and catching it early can be life-saving.

The American Cancer Society says when ovarian cancer is found in its earliest stage, more than 90% of patients live at least five years.

September is also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Dr. Thomas Johnson with Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast joined NewsChannel 7 Today to talk about early warning signs and treatment options for ovarian and prostate cancer.
