FIRST ALERT | Sunny skies continue through the weekend with plenty of time to soak up these fall conditions
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Another stunning fall day for us here in the Panhandle. Temperatures were able to touch the 80s in some areas, but the upper 70s is what most people saw and felt - humidity as low as it is allows for heat index values to stay close to the actual temperature.
TONIGHT: Heading into tonight - no matter your plans: high school football games, hanging out with friends, or cozying up inside - we’re in for another cooler night with winds picking up overnight. Throughout the evening, temperatures will steadily drop to the low 50s along the coast and the upper 40s for areas inland. Very chilly, so a jacket or a windbreaker is recommended and the hairspray forecast: needed as it’ll be a tad windy.
WEEKEND: Saturday and Sunday will pose a copy-paste forecast with the mornings starting out a few degrees warmer than before - in the upper 50s - while the highs stay a few degrees cooler in the mid to upper 70s. Skies will be clear, dry, and blue for the entire weekend. A steady and slightly strong breeze out of the north will have a few gusts up to 25-30mph so keep that hat secured! This clear, sunny, slightly cooler, and breezy day gives every excuse to spend as much time outside, even watching college and NFL gameday enjoying our Florida fall conditions.
WEEK AHEAD: Winds will die down and temperatures will slowly climb through the upcoming workweek, and humidity may get reintroduced later in the week, bring a few clouds overhead, though no rain chance. Cold mornings and warm afternoons may cause you to bundle up in the morning, but we’ll heat up plenty in the afternoon, so make sure you have a layer to shed.
A small craft advisory out until Monday for smaller crafts as the winds pick up over the open water and cause waves to ramp up to 5-9ft.
