PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Gulf Coast Salute Air Show is attracting thousands to Panama City Beach. The show features military jet demos, including F-22s and the Thunderbirds.

This is the first time in more than five years an air show has been held in the area. After Hurricane Michael, Tyndall Air Force Base suffered extensive damage. The base is now being rebuilt as a “base of the future” and construction is taking place. That’s why the air show is taking place near the City Pier in Panama City Beach instead of on base.

Sunday’s Air Show schedule is below:

10:15 AM: Mini Jet Demo, AFSPECWAR Exhibition Team, MIG-17 Demo, QF-16 and IX E-9 Flyby, F-35B Demo

Noon: Quicksilver P-51 Demo, 325 FW F-35A Flybay, Patty Wagstaff, F-22 Demo, Heritage Flight Demo

1:15 PM: USN LCAC Demo, NextGen Eagles Demo, Dehavilland Vampire Demo, Mike Goulian, Ace Maker T-33 Demo, Helicopter Photo Passes (R-44)
