Jessica Foster is the Morning Anchor for NewsChannel 7 Today. She joined the WJHG team in January 2017 and is thrilled to bring the news to Panhandle viewers each weekday.
Jessica moved to the Panama City area in 2004 from Atlanta and has been an active member of the community since that time. She has more than 10 years of news experience in Panama City as a television news anchor, reporter and meteorologist.
Jessica completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Broadcast News from The University of Georgia. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and as a First Honor Graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Jessica also completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences/Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University with a 4.0 GPA. In 2009, she received her Master's degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University.
In 2008, Jessica was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from The University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism.
Before moving to the Florida Panhandle, Jessica worked at CBS 46 in Atlanta as an Associate Producer while still in college. She also has experience as the Main Anchor for "Georgia Gameday," a news and sports show that aired live before all Georgia Bulldog home games. Jessica gained radio experience in Athens, Georgia as the News Director for WUOG.
Jessica is an award-winning journalist. She has received several Associated Press Awards, The Georgia Association of Broadcasters' Esther Award for internship excellence and the WSB Radio Award for community service through radio.
You'll often see Jessica at community events as the emcee or as a volunteer. She is a member of the American Cancer Society's Volunteer Leadership Board and works with Relay for Life events across the Panhandle. In 2010, Jessica received the American Cancer Society's Hope Award for her volunteer work.
