PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Dolly Parton heads from her Tennessee home to the white sands of Panama City Beach.
The music legend is celebrating the opening of her Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show in Panama City Beach. The $60 million dollar facility is located near Pier Park. The dinner theater brings a Broadway style show to the beach. It also brings 300 new jobs to the area.
Parton says she chose Panama City Beach because of the family-friendly atmosphere.
Pirates Voyage also has locations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Construction on the Panama City Beach location began in February of last year, and Parton says they were able to open in time for this summer season.
