Lynn Haven Commissioners appoint new mayor
LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The City of Lynn Haven will have a new mayor after Jesse Nelson resigned from the position last week.
Before commissioners voted to appoint a new mayor the public got the opportunity to voice their opinions on who they think should fill the seat. Some were in favor of Dr. Dave lowery, the candidate on the ballot for the recall election. While others who say they were not in favor of Lowery suggested city leaders appoint a commissioners since they have already been voted into office.
However, during the first meeting of the year, commissioners voted unanimously to have Dave Lowery fill the seat until the next election in 2027. He will be sworn in during a ceremony on January 20th before taking office.
