Precautionary boil water notice issued for parts of Panama City following water main break
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for select Panama City residents following an emergency water main repair on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
According to city officials, the break happened Tuesday afternoon when an independent, non-city contractor struck a water line on private property. City crews repaired the line, but the emergency work caused a drop in water pressure across the immediate system.
The precautionary notice applies to customers in the following areas:
- Breezy Lane
- Windy Lane
- 23rd Street Station
- 416 W. 23rd St.

Residents may experience discolored tap water for approximately 24 hours after service is restored.
The advisory will remain active until repairs are fully evaluated and bacteriological sampling confirms the drinking water meets state safety standards. Officials will post updates to www.panamacity.gov and issue a notice once the advisory is officially lifted.
Residents with questions can call the Panama City Public Works Office at 850-872-3000 (option 3) during normal business hours or reach out to the Bay County Health Department for guidance.
