PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Thunder Beach is bringing thousands of bikers to the roads in Panama City Beach, along with some safety concerns.

Panama City Beach law enforcement is reminding drivers to be extra cautious this weekend. Officers say motorcycles can be hard to spot, so drivers should check their mirrors twice before changing lanes or turning.

Officers say bikers should be patient and slow down. They have zero tolerance for excessive speeding, burnouts, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.

Officers say safety is the number one priority, and extra patrols will be out to ensure that.

“We have our traffic enforcement team that’s going to be out enforcing DUI’s and reckless behavior. And normal patrol has been bolstered so we have extra numbers for the week and especially this weekend to help cover for calls and calls for service,” said Officer Justin Meeks, PCB Police Department Special Operations.

Thunder Beach events will wrap up on Sunday.
