Destin Fire Rescue assists an injured patient at the Mid-Bay Bridge

DESTIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Destin Fire Rescue says Marine 19 responded to a report of a traumatic injury at the Mid-Bay Bridge on Monday Morning.

Crews found a patient with an apparent broken ankle, provided initial treatment, and then turned care over to Okaloosa County EMS.

The patient was taken to HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
