SEASIDE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After a quarter-century, a 30A staple in Seaside will be shutting down next month.

On Thursday, The REP Theatre announced they will be ceasing their operations after its final summer performance, which is slotted for mid-August. (RELATED: The REP Fall Series)

The theatre says it was a difficult decision to make, but with key artistic leadership out the door and increasingly high operation expenses, the theatre had to make their decision.

“The situation was further complicated by the non-renewal of the lease for our theatrical home of 25 years due to planned renovations by Seaside, prompting the unexpected challenge of securing a new, affordable venue while simultaneously recruiting new leadership. Facing this convergence of challenges, we have made the heartbreaking choice to close the theatre,” said The REP.

The theatre invites everyone to come out and see their final performance to celebrate all the stories and memories created along the way.
