PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Halloween thrills are back in downtown Panama City as Fright Nights returns to the Panama City Center for the Arts, offering visitors a haunted-house experience while raising money for the arts in Bay County.

Organized by the Bay Arts Alliance, the annual fundraiser is back for its sixth year featuring the Raven Queen, a character whose dreams and nightmares provide the inspiration for this year’s haunted attraction, titled Dreamwalkers.

Executive Director of Bay Arts Alliance, Jayson Kretzer, said visitors will travel through the character’s dreams and nightmares as they make their way through the haunted house.

While the haunted house offers plenty of scares, Kretzer said the event has a larger purpose: supporting the arts throughout Bay County.

“The arts are so very important to a community,” Kretzer said. “They do so much to sustain our mental health as well as our economy.”

Visitors who prefer to skip the scares can still enjoy the atmosphere outside, where a party on the lawn offers another way to take part in the festivities. The surrounding downtown area also offers opportunities to visit local businesses and enjoy the community’s social district.

For those interested in seeing the attraction without encountering scare actors, Fright Nights will also offer daytime tours on Saturday, allowing visitors to explore the artwork and set designs in a less frightening environment.

The haunted house opens at 6 p.m. each night. Tickets and timed entry reservations are available online at HOME | Fright Nights Immersive Haunted Experience.
